365nm UV Exploration Flashlight

See the forest in a whole new light.

We selected this powerful 365nm UV flashlight specifically for exploring fungal fluorescence. While many common “black lights” use 395nm UV, the 365nm wavelength produces less visible purple light, making subtle fluorescence in mushrooms, lichens, minerals, plants, and other natural materials much easier to see.

A built-in ZWB2 glass filter further reduces unwanted visible light, helping fluorescent colors stand out against a darker background. The large filtered head produces a strong, useful beam for exploring outdoors rather than simply illuminating objects at close range.

This is the same style of UV light we use for our Mushroom Mountain UV Night Hikes, and it’s a great tool for mushroom hunters, naturalists, rock and mineral collectors, educators, and anyone curious about what becomes visible after dark.

Features:

  • High-performance 365nm UV LED
  • 39mm ZWB2 glass filter
  • 1500mA driver for strong UV output
  • Uses two protected 18650 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries
  • Includes two rechargeable batteries and dual-bay charger
  • IP65 water-resistant construction
  • Textured grip for comfortable, secure handling
  • Tail-cap on/off switch
  • Approximately 8¾" long
  • Approximately 180g

Why 365nm?

Not all UV flashlights are created equal. For observing mushrooms and other natural fluorescence, we recommend 365nm UV with a filtering lens rather than the more common 395nm lights. A 365nm light produces less visible violet light, while the ZWB2 filter blocks even more unwanted visible light. The result is a darker background with brighter, more distinct fluorescence—making it much easier to see the colors and patterns that are normally hidden from our eyes.
