Come spend a creative morning at Mushroom Mountain painting something near and dear to us - mushrooms!

For this installment of our Mushroom Mountain Artist Series, artist Joan Milazzo-Mendez will guide you step-by-step through creating a whimsical Starry Mushroom painting on a 12" × 12" canvas.

No painting experience is necessary. Joan will prepare the canvases ahead of time, and you'll be guided through the painting from beginning to end. Whether you're an experienced artist or haven't picked up a paintbrush since school, this class is designed to be relaxed, fun, and approachable.

And because this is Mushroom Mountain, there will of course be shroomy snacks to enjoy while you paint. 🍄 BYOB, but I will have refreshing herb tea. 

Your Ticket Includes

Your 12" × 12" prepared canvas, paints, brushes and all necessary art supplies, step-by-step instruction from Joan, and light mushroom-inspired snacks provided by Mushroom Mountain.

Just bring yourself and your willingness to get creative.

Meet the Artist

Joan Milazzo-Mendez has been creating art for most of her life and holds a degree in Fine Arts and Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Over the years, Joan has completed hundreds of art projects and commissioned pieces and regularly teaches Paint Nite classes ranging from intimate gatherings to groups of more than 50 people.

She is also the owner of Joan of Art Salon, her salon and art studio in downtown Pickens, South Carolina, where she combines her love of creativity, color, and connecting with people.

Joan's goal is simple: inspire people to enjoy making art - whether they've been painting for years or are trying it for the very first time.

About the Painting

For our November class, we'll be painting Joan's Starry Mushroom design - one of several mushroom-themed paintings she created for the event. The artwork has a whimsical nighttime feel and fits perfectly with Mushroom Mountain.

Important Registration Information

This is a prepaid event because each canvas is prepared in advance for participants.

Registration closes Thursday, November 12, two days before the event.
