What’s the most fun and best way to learn new mushrooms? Camping out in the forest, collecting and learning identification in a group setting can provide the focus needed to absorb a lot of skills and knowledge about mushrooms in our area, as well as their medicinal and cultural uses!
Join us at the beautiful Oconee State Park for a weekend of mushroom ID, low tech mushroom cultivation, foraging, and mushroom tastings.
The main focus is to learn how to identify mushrooms and use book keys to make the complex task much easier and enjoyable, while hiking area trails looking for some amazing fungi!
This class is $75 until April 1, 2020, and $100 after April 1, 2020.
Also included is how to store and dry mushrooms while off the grid, making and transporting fire with fungi, campfire mushroom cookery, and making medicine from mushrooms in the woods.
Other fun things to do:
- Making a fire
- Making carrying pouches
- Making bamboo chopsticks and other fun things from bamboo
